School Streets scheme for Temple Cowley!

Published by admin on

In addition to the Temple Cowley LTN trial to begin in February-March 2021, the area will also host one of the city’s first three “School Streets” schemes.

School Streets are a closure to cars on roads in front of (and sometimes nearby) schools to all but residents, school staff and students with special exemptions. The schemes have been extensively developed in Hackney and many hundreds of locations throughout the country.

In Temple Cowley, the scheme will prevent parental drop-off by vehicle from almost the entire stretch of Temple Road (see image).

Sustrans have been contracted by the county to run the schemes. They will be marshalled by one paid steward and a team of volunteers. If you are interested in either of these roles, please apply using this link.
